In the summer of 2013 I designed a poster exploring a typeface I was unfamiliar with. I chose 'Century Schoolbook' which is also the typeface with which I learned the English alphabet. This typeface, designed by Morris Fuller Benton in 1919, uses contrasting weights that help young readers quickly learn letterforms. This is also the same font that is used on the ubiquitous toy blocks that parents buy for their kids.
In addition to exploring 'Century Schoolbook,' I created a series of book covers for 'Dada' by Leah Dickerman. This publication explores the Dadaist movement through artists such as Marcel Duchamp, Laszlo Moholy-Nagy, and Tristan Zara. These covers were all done using the font Grotesque MT.
